Genetic Testing & Counseling

The prenatal genetics program provides expertise in the use of genetic screening and testing techniques. Available tests include first trimester screening, chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis and fetal blood sampling. After diagnosis, resources are available to parents including counseling and support networks to assist in adjusting and preparing for their child's special needs and to promote informed planning and decision making.

Targeted Ultrasound

Yale continues to advance in the application of ultrasound technology. Targeted (formerly Level II) ultrasound is a major function of our program. We are equipped to perform targeted vaginal ultrasounds at an early gestational age and provide diagnostic information early in the pregnancy.

Antenatal Testing Services

The antenatal service is an integral part of Yale's fetal diagnostic services. To help ensure fetal well-being, the service provides non-stress testing, biophysical profiles, fetal versions and PG gel insertions.

Fetal Echocardiography

The Yale Fetal Cardiovascular Center is the most experienced and busiest diagnostic and treatment service in New England. We have diagnosed over 300 fetal cardiac anomalies and can provide the full range of postnatal surgical care.
