Congratulations on your pregnancy! From the moment you find out you're pregnant, your baby's health is your most important priority. You'll do everything you can to make sure that he or she is born healthy.
Between 11 and 12 weeks after your last menstrual period, you can instantly learn your baby's risk for Down syndrome and other abnormalities with Yale's safe, non-invasive first-trimester risk assessment. Our high-risk obstetrical team, made up of leading experts in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, will provide you the most accurate information possible – as quickly as technology allows. It's as simple as providing a blood sample at least one week before your scheduled appointment, then visiting us between weeks 11 and 14 of your pregnancy.
In 2000, Yale Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Yale Genetics offered New England's first comprehensive first-trimester risk assessment program. Specially certified physicians, sonographers and genetic counselors with exceptional experience are available to screen your baby's risk for Down's syndrome early in your pregnancy. This not only means better care for you and your baby, but further peace of mind.
As soon as you learn you are pregnant, ask your obstetrician about the Yale First-Trimester Risk Assessment program or call us at 203-785-5682 to make an appointment.
